Before Whitening Your Teeth!

The color of your smile is under scrutiny, from other people, the media and even your own reflection in the mirror.  Teeth whitening seems to be on everyone’s wish. On the Internet, social media and in the stores you can receive many deals daily. But it is only the registered dental professionals who are legally permitted to carry out these procedures.  We urge you, our patients, to arrange a dental examination by our dentists, before proceeding with the whitening treatments.  Alternative treatments including the risks of proposed treatment will be discussed. In office “laser” whitening and custom whitening tray treatments will be addressed. Many patients don’t know that the presence of active decays (caries) or active periodontal disease (gum disease) makes the tooth whitening contraindicated.  Let’s always be safe!
